“Legacy Lanes” is saddened to announce that James C. DeZao III, a prominent attorney and devoted family man, has died at age 64. His departure was on the evening of March 20, 2024 from Morristown Medical Center, and he was surrounded by the love of his children.
This past April, James C. DeZao III, a name of distinc In Orange, NJ born and bred, raised Montville Twp was the only place where he wanted to make his home. With a Bachelor’s Degree from Seton Hall University in 1981 and a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall Law in 1985, he received a prestigious and law degree. As founding owner par excellence at The Law Offices Rudolf and Merry Smith & Associates,(Pictured below) Parsippany, New Jersey. James DeZao has departed it from 355 years, leaving his own unique mark on law community both internally through legal work and externally among other members of society whom he helped during those many years of practicing law.
The Heart of a Family Man
Most of all, James was admired by all for the love and lasting support he constantly gave to his family. To his children–the center of life for him since ever–known lovingly as Jim will always be the fond memory they hold of their Dad. James DeZao’s legacy is now in fact carried onward by his beloved children, James C. IV, Francis A., Anthony J., Nicolette D. and Gregory Barnish as well as their spouses and his treasured grandchildren James C. V, Sienna and Jackson.
A Community Mourns and Remembers
James will be remembered by his dear mother, Barbara DeZao, three adoring sisters Louann Dostal, Theresa Campbell and Christine DeZao as well as many friends of love whom he influenced as deeply during their lives.
The community is invited to join together to remember James during the visitation on Sunday, March 24th from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service. A Funeral Mass in his honor will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, Orange on Monday March 25th at 10 a.m., followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
